Hmmm, Chanah, did you read the article with care?

the article is to introduce to people some principles of jyotish electional astrology, also known as muhurta. They obviously use their lunar mansions, and not the arabic ones...

But timing does matter - if it didn't, we wouldn't do elections at all. In other words this moment over here is going to be better than that moment over there - time has qualities.

Granted, if it's a marriage of money or other convenience, and people don't love each other to start, there's not much you can do. But if they do love each other, I see no harm in fortifying what can be fortified so that they'll have a good life together - some money, as nice a home as possible, and everything we can do to generally reinforce the good feelings between them.

Yuzuru, why the Jyotish mansions instead of the Arabic ones? I enjoyed your article, and I like the idea of lunar astrology coming into play, just curious.

Hi, Adam

I don´t think that a election for marriage is restricted to a "good party", but yes, I feel that you are only working on the probability shift of an already existing situation.
Let´s assume the marriage is because of money. No election will create love in my opinion.
Let´s assume the marriage is because of love, but the couple is 18 years old... the probability in western society of getting a divorce is very very high. This is before any election can exist.

When we talk about elections, event charts, astrologers suddenly seem to forget all their other techniques, like natal, progressions, synastry, etc

Great thoughts indeed! Electing the \"best\" moment for marriage does not guarantee the happiness of the (un)lucky couple throughout the years (months?), it is simply the \"best\" moment to get married. A good marriage is/should be a good party, I\'d rather see it from this perspective, since as you have sharply observed, the couple is already in love. Indeed.
